Reverse number lookup: The internet offers many reliable and informative services that allow you to do reverse number lookups at no cost and without having to go through an online registration process.  Free sites normally get their information from public

records and although they may not give out unlisted numbers they may provide information on phone owners’ names and addresses.

According to Zaba they offer three times as many listings as the white pages – this may be possible since they seem to be able to locate just about anyone!  Simply type in person’s name and state if you know it and continue with the search.

 

You could also use their Advanced Search feature for a more comprehensive search in which case you can add information such as First Name, Middle Name, Last Name, approximately Date of Birth, State and City or Town.  Stay away from the links on the site, expect if you are particularly interested in the information they could offer.

 

The White Pages site could also be useful if you want to do a reverse number lookup. This site requires you to enter a person’s First Name, city and State or Zip Code if you want to and their Last Name, which is a required field.  To get rid of pop-ups getting in your way, simply click on the X or close button in their window.

 

The resulting report will show the hits found by your search by city and state.  Click on a record to see the full details of the person including their name and number, physical address, city, state and zip code.  You may even see a map showing their home address.  Again, stay away from the highly visible ads and sponsored links which will lead you to other sites.

 

Using a person’s name in doing a reverse number lookup

 

Switchboard is a service related to the above-mentioned white pages site.  Enter a person’s Surname, which is a required field, and if you wish to their First Name, City, State and Zip Code.  The resulting report will reveal their name, complete address and telephone number.

 

Using the same Switchboard service a user can do a reverse number lookup by entering a ten digit telephone number and clicking on Search.  The resulting report shows the names of all adults sharing the specified number with their respective age range and addresses.

 

What does it mean if a reverse number lookup is not successful?

 

If none of the above services can help in locating a person, their information is not publicly available and social networking sites, school sites and professional networking sites could be consulted as a possible way of locating them.  A reverse number lookup service may still be useful though, if one know the number of an acquaintance of the person who is the objective of the search so that they can be contacted instead.
